I have the grip and a Thumbs Up "Thumbie" on my Q2.  I can actually get hold of the camera now!  😊

For people with large hands, the M and Q cameras can be ergonomically challenging.  Fortunately we have ways to address that.

last bit of the jigsaw is indeed the thumb grip...I have ordered one   :-)

as you can see , my hands are like a bunch of bananas.....I can easily hold and operate my hasselblad in one hand!

I use my Q with the grip, loop and thumb grip. A fantastic combination. I keep the Q in a Billingham 75 with the loop uppermost (obviously) and the lens hood always on. The Q is completely protected but available in an instant. The loop keeps the camera very safe in the hand where it can comfortably remain for prolonged periods. I can't think of a better system (for me).

Me too , I also have a 75.   Perfect for the Q/Q2

I am not convinced that I would find the loop useful, but then I have not tried it.

Do you guys mean the Billingham 72? I can't find the 75, perhaps it's an old discontinued bag?

Yes, My Bad!...Its a 72 ...mine is burgundy colour....fabulous bag and tailor made for the Q2!

Please add my apologies. I think I was the first to mistakenly refer to the 72 as the 75.

I was looking at that grip but ended up with the RRS grip/L-plate and thumbs up.  The camera is comfortable to hold, still gives me access to the battery and card slot and can be tripod mounted.  If anyone is thinking about tripod use it’s a great way to tackle both issues.

I went for the Lim’s half case with integrated arca dovetail plate. So far, very pleased with it. Easy to hold for extended periods and mounts on a tripod quickly. Haven’t yet tried attaching my peak design capture clip plate (no need unless I’m hiking).

I have tiny hands so never thought I need to add a grip, but this grip is a god sent.  Now I feel secure to shoot portrait with one hand and don’t get sore fingers after shooting for 30 minutes.  The inconvenience of having to remove it to access card and battery is not too bad.  I remove it to use tripod, prefer the tripod aligns with the lens.

LIMs in the bomb - so handy and looks great.  That built-in Arca dovetail and grip are brilliant.

I never used a neck strap, maybe when i was a child because dad was requireing it to use his Leica IIIg

I either hold the camera in my hand also for long time or i have it in a camera bag (a Lowepro similar to the Billingham 72 shown above).
My D800 fits well in my hand and has a buil-in grip wheil i had some issues to hold he "square" design" of the Q/Q2.
The grip solved the problem but the fingerloop makes it impossible to drop the camera (what i never did) except i drop myself with the camera.
For my self i love it and i can recommend both to everyone, the finger lop for people who don't use a neck strap.
Before you order the finger loop, be careful, there are 3 different sizes and make sure that they fit your fingers, otherwise the loop can be uncomfortable.

I've used the three options talked about here.

1. Leica Grip - A very nicely made and comfortable option. I liked that it used the same leatherette as the Q2. I really like the texture. I just got tired of having to remove it to swap batteries and cards. It was a bit of a juggling act since I'm often doing this while standing. This is the best option if you want to use the finger loop.
2. LIMs - I had used the one that had the tripod dovetail with my Q. Very nicely made and the diamond print leather texture on this one was nice. It held up nicely and still looked almost new when I sold the Q. I did find that I missed being able to easily touch the leatherette on the camera.
3. RRS Q2 Grip - This is what I'm currently using. Very solid with a nicely molded grip. It allows for attachment to a tripod in either orientation and works with the Peak Design tripod without needing to remove the pins on the tripod head. I also bought a QD loop so that I could quickly and easily attach my PD Leash (one attachment at the bottom and the other on the left side where I normally have the PD Cuff attached or both attachments on the bottom).
