I'm just curious if this is normal (like most posts here): when I mount my 35mm 1.4 ASPH FLE into my Leica MP body, when I focus all the way to any end (close or infinity) if I push a bit harder, the lens moves very little in the mount (rotation), less or around 1mm. The same can be reproduced if I firmly grab it with my hand and try to rotate it: small rotation (along with sound) occurs. This is also there with my Summilux 50mm but to a lesser extent.

Is this play normal? Can someone check their own MP with these lenses (or others) and let me know please?

Same with new M-A, have a look in this thread

When I had MP in two periods, never found this kind of trouble.

Maybe a batch/or two of MP/M-A with this problem easy to cure.

When I attach any lens to my M4, it rotates a good 5mm past the point where it should stop with a click. I then turn it counter-clockwise until it stops, and I know all is good. I've come to accept this as a characteristic of my particular M4. But then, it's a very old camera. Maybe your MP is new?

I can feel some tiny movement on my MP but it feels like its happening around the release button which appears to be normal to me, but this only happens if I hold the whole camera and try to "remove" the lens without the release button, I don't feel any movement while focusing with focusing tab.

Yep this is exactly it. I may feel movement when the 35mm focusing ring gets stiff. Sometimes it does after having been left alone for a while. A few back and forths make it fairly smooth again.

I think this isn’t something worth sending the camera to service for (for me). When I get closer towards the end of my warranty, I might send it in so it gets adjusted to my lenses and the viewfinder cleaned (has some tiny dust inside from a beach trip). Until then, the camera seems to work. I don’t think this affects image quality.
