I love mine.  Very sharp, great contrast and lightweight.

Not as finicky as the apo-summicron.  I've been through 3 of them and they keep going out of adjustment, my guess is it's the FLE.

I did not know it had been discontinued.  Too bad.

Unfortunately the entire Summarit line was discontinued a few months ago.  I have the 35/2.4 and 75/2.4 and think they're both excellent.

I have the 2.5 version, and though it’s taken a while for me to get used to the longer focal length, I’ve been frequently surprised by shots from the 75mm Summarit.

I don’t think discontinuation is a reason to avoid the lens at all. If anything it’s a last chance to grab a really great and under-rated lens.

I second the above positive remarks.  Have had my 75mm f2.5 for nearly ten years and always find the results to be impressive.  Recently added the 90mm f2.4 and that too is an excellent performer.

I have the 75 cron, this is an amazing and superb lens on a number of fronts in my opinion. I have never used the 75:  summarit, Summilux, or noctilux. However I struggle to  believe any are crisper than the cron.

Summarit is very crisp but Summicron rendering is more pleasing.

I have the 2.5 version, which I bought on close out from one of the big dealers in Europe after it was discontinued. I paid just under $900 for it. Well worth it, and it is an excellent lens. Never had a problem with it.

The entire Summarit line is wonderful. When it was first introduced it shipped with a cloth case and not even a hood. And rather unfortunately Leica chose rubber rings on the 75.

Leica did a great job of positioning it as a cheaper range.

They should never have done that. When the 2.4 version came out, they made some improvements (hood, case etc.) but the stigma of a 'cheaper range' remained.

I have the 50/2.4 Summarit and love it.  I was planning on getting the 75/2.4 but Leica discontinued it before I was able to snag one. 😟

Maybe one day I'll stumble across a good used copy.

I have the 35/2.4 and 75/2.4.  Both great lenses. I should have probably grabbed a 50 before they disappeared.

Chances to find an unused one for a rebate are not bad. There were quite a lot of Summarits waiting in the shops for their customers - but nobody asked for them and I am sure they weren’t sold out of a sudden. That‘s the reason why they were ditched by Leica.

Some lenses only get popular after they disappear from the catalogues. But try to find a Summarit mentioned in any  thread in this forum older than 12 months, when someone asked which M-lens he should get.
