mr_bom Posted July 4, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello members, I’m curious about the new Summaron-M 28mm 5.6 It’s Focusing tab stuck at the framelines selector and cannot go to close focus. Does this occurs to every M-body that has rectangle framelines selector? 😅 Thanks in advance Thatchapon Welcome, dear visitor! ianman Posted July 7, 2020 Share #5 Posted July 7, 2020 Hi Mike, I have just tested again on the three bodies I mentioned (film MP, M4-P and M9). I can confirm that I do not have the problem described on any of those bodies, there is plenty of clearance.
ianman Posted July 7, 2020 Share #6 Posted July 7, 2020 A note on the above.... I have just noticed that the question was concerning the rectangular frameline selector. Of my three bodies only the M4-P has that shape but the focusing tab still clears it.

mr_bom Posted July 20, 2020 Author Share #10 Posted July 20, 2020 After swapping the F/L lever to an MP-style one. The focusing tab clears with the F/L screw as pictured. elinewman Posted October 15, 2021 Share #11 Posted October 15, 2021 Hey! Late to the thread but wondering if you swapped the frame line lever yourself? If so what tools did you use? Having the same issue with the summaron on my m4

If so what tools did you use? Having the same issue with the summaron on my m4 Hello welcome here, I've never had the trouble, so for myself, I just tried the Summaron-M 28mm on my M4. Something like a fraction of millimeter let the focus lever pass. Then I've tried out on my M4-P, the ring on the M4-P frame selection lever is flush with the lens's focus lever. So I did push a bit harder on the lens lever, then it passed. If I had any problem, in future, I would bent a very small bit the lens lever. In my view, it's only tolerances of those parts, why not shave a bit, a fraction of 1/10 mm, the retaining lever screw. Or like this thread's solution, replace the flat retaining screw on the camera with a flatter one.
