Boojay Posted June 25, 2020 Share #21  Posted June 25, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) The above has me worried.  Just checked my version 2 pre Asph 35 Lux, Canada, have no idea if it has ever been modified but the black shroud is there, used on M240 and M10, again now on M240 and have never noticed any issue with infinity, focus ring is smooth throughout the entire range, do not see any marks inside the body.    Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Their inner cage is too narrow. Mount the lens focussed at a near distance only , do not mount the lens set at infinity or you might force and foul the lens' calibration. Been there, done it ...! Then if you feel any resistance, don't try focussing any further and have the shroud removed or trimmed. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
darylgo Posted June 26, 2020 Share #28  Posted June 26, 2020 Images of two lenses show eight rings, they don't appear to be modified. One copy has wear on the points where the shroud ends.  The warning continues to be present, P 32 of the M10-P manual: INCOMPATIBLE LENSES – Hologon 15 f/8 – Summicron 50 f/2 with close-up – Elmar 90 f/4 with retractable tube (manufactured 1954- 1968) – Some examples of the Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 (non-aspherical, manufactured 1961-1995, Made in Canada) cannot be attached to the camera or cannot focus to infinity. Leica Customer Care can modify these lenses so that they can be used with the camera.  Welcome, dear visitor! To avoid any trouble with my M10-D - there is the same warning in the manual as with the M10-P, I simply contacted Leica Customer Service and asked about the compatibility of the lens. Their reply same day was positive, the lens can be used with the M10-D. Seems, depending on origin, Canada/Germany and manufacturing batch No. there are slight dimensional differences of the shroud, therefore, best is to contact customer service to avoid any mechanical damage of lens and/or camera.  See their reply - sorry, in German, below. (Dear Mr. xxxx, thank you for the inquiry, you can use the mentioned Summilux without any trouble with your M10-D. Basically, almost all M lenses can be used with digital M cameras.
