fotografr Posted June 11, 2020 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been going through some old negatives and came across this shot taken right after I constructed my darkroom in 1980. The enlarger was a Leitz Focomat and was a fantastic piece of equipment. Welcome, dear visitor! The thing I loved about the Leitz was that once I got it adjusted properly I rarely had to focus. It stayed right in focus whether doing 5x7, 8x10 or 11x14.

OR120 Posted June 19, 2020 Share #5 Posted June 19, 2020 Nice darkroom. I still have my Focomat w/color head in my basement. It's all covered in plastic - just waiting. My wife keeps telling me to sell it (or - just sell everything) ---- Have a few spare bulbs packed away. I had the same film dryer. Spent many years in darkrooms. It was like meditation for me - very calming.

In addition to drying film, i used it to rapidly dry RC prints. When really pressed I could go in my darkroom with raw film and have a print ready to transmit in 30 minutes. Today, of course, that would be considered a snail's pace.

stuny Posted June 20, 2020 Share #8 Posted June 20, 2020 Focomat suggests to me the automatic focus at different enlargement sizes once you had it set
