I've been going through some old negatives and came across this shot taken right after I constructed my darkroom in 1980. The enlarger was a Leitz Focomat and was a fantastic piece of equipment.

The durst I had, beginning about 1971 had a similar look to yours

Durst also made good enlargers. The thing I loved about the Leitz was that once I got it adjusted properly I rarely had to focus. It stayed right in focus whether doing 5x7, 8x10 or 11x14.

Nice darkroom. I still have my Focomat w/color head in my basement. It's all covered in plastic - just waiting. My wife keeps telling me to sell it (or - just sell everything) ----  Have a few spare bulbs packed away. I had the same film dryer. Spent many years in darkrooms. It was like meditation for me - very calming.

That film dryer really sped up my turnaround time, which was critical when I was working with the wire services. In addition to drying film, i used it to rapidly dry RC prints. When really pressed I could go in my darkroom with raw film and have a print ready to transmit in 30 minutes. Today, of course, that would be considered a snail's pace.
