I had a Leica Q stolen from me last night in the riots? I believe it has GPS? Anyway to track it? Any ideas?

First, I'm very sorry for your loss. Second, I'm sorry to say that neither the Q nor the Q2 has built-in GPS so there is no way you can track the camera like that.

There may be some way in which you can register the serial number with Leica as stolen but I doubt that will help very much. The only thing I can think of at present is to notify the police (who I suspect have rather a lot on their hands anyway at present) and your insurers—if, indeed, the camera was covered.

The serial number of my Q2 can be seen in the file information under Camera Data in Photoshop.

I never checked that, but good to know.

Now the question is: Is there a crawler software who crawls the www to check photos for serian numbers?
I think/remember there is a system for copyright information who hide information inside the photo and they can send crawlers to find photos with the embedded information.
