The gentleman on the left was Steve and he was the grand patriarch of all our fish fries.  I was looking for some photos of him and came across this one.  May he R.I.P.

Today I sold the 28 elmirite and picked up the Summicron V2.
I just found the elmirite had too much depth of field wide open.

Maybe you should check again the name of this thread: 28 mm Shots...

I'm already stressed by my wife's shopping frenzy 😅 and somehow you are contributing to overall stress. Can you please attach any 28 mm shot to relieve the stress of us, casual forum members, clicking on Shots thread hoping for some nice wide angle shots? 😇

Just traded in my Ultron V2 for an Elmarit ASPH v2 (I know it’s a stop slower but I always wanted Leica glass), but here are a few photos from the Ultron from this fall, as even though I traded it in, I believe it’s worth showcasing its strengths (shot on the Leica MP, 28 Ultron ASPH Type II, Portra 400):

Some oldies with the 28/2.8 Elmarit-M asph (current).

It was my first M lens ever, and I exchanged it for a 35mm a few months later. Perfect. I now know that 35mm is my ideal FL on M cameras, and the 28mm is the second one. I tried a while with a 21mm, but it's too much for me on M... I feel better when I see the entire scene in the huge OVF. That's why, for my taste, my 28mm photographs are more attractive in composition and accurate framing than a 21mm. (and 50mm too, I would say). Not guesstimate extra accessories (optical or digital) or LV screen. The analog experience using an OVF is marvelous.
I changed a lot my mind in a few M-related aspects. You try, understand, make small mistakes, learn, grow, understand, etc... The eternal cycle, you know.
Today, I highly believe that with M cameras, what works better and makes total sense is the following: 35mm is my "normal," my way to go, my starter point. And most used. 28mm is when I want a wider lens, more context. A 90mm when I want to select part of the scene viewed through the OVF. That's it. Three lenses, three choices.
Now, my only 28mm is the Summilux of my Q2M. I need the elmarit urgently again. Or try the new CV Ultron II. But a 28mm for M is required now.
The main point is My respect for this focal length.

P.s. The only lens I never tried on M is the 24mm. I hope it won't change my current ideas and stable situation, lol
