hamey Posted August 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Something I believed was impossible with a Film Camera. M7 & 35mm f2,asph HAND HELD at 1.5 of a second. Kodak E100GX-100asa Slide film. Time was around 1800 hrs and at night...24/06/07 I am so impressed with the slide that I am seriously thinking of getting the 50mm 1.4 asph for my M7 as an addition to my 35mmf2. All I can say Congrutulations Leica. Cheers.

stuny Posted August 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 13, 2007 Ham - Than is amazing, and not just for its technical achievement. The composition is spot-on, too.
cocker Posted August 13, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 13, 2007 Excellent Ken - I think both are good but feel this one works particularly well in colour
abrewer Posted August 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 13, 2007 Agree with Stuart. The technical accomplishment boggles my mind. I certainly couldn't hand-hold at that speed and get anything close to this sharp. If you like the 35mmf2ASPH, you'll absolutely love the 50LuxASPH. Guaranteed. Thanks. wda Posted August 13, 2007 Share #6 Posted August 13, 2007 Ken, have you thought of carrying a monopod, often possible when tripods are discouraged. Of course, in digital you could have wound up the ISO speed! David
hamey Posted August 13, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted August 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you Gentlemen. Alan. I didn't expect to get the shot,as it also boggles my mind. For years I have been using the Leica R, but only with a Tripod for this kind of work. I have lost so much opportunities over the years because the subject I am trying to Photograph didn't sit around for me to get the shot. But certainly the technical achievement can only be attributed to the Leica M. As at 58 years old, I couldn't hold a camera that steady. David. I have carried my monopod several times, but on this occasion I did'nt. With all the pushing and shoving around me it would have been diffilcult to set up. And time was a Premium, as the Loco was about to move off. The Driver who is a personal friend of mine, was his last trip before retirement And I did accommpany him on his last trip Cheers. hamey Posted August 13, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted August 13, 2007 I am sorry that it's not taken with a Leica, but the owner is a Leica lover. Canon Digicam A710. First shot no flash, and certainly no M7. I didn't dare pull out my beloved Leica M out of the bag. At full speed, Steam engine footplate can be very rough, and heaps of coal dust from open fire boxes. Thats why I used the little C.....if I droped it, I wouldn't care so much. Subject...My mate Rosco at the Throttle of North British R707..built in 1952 Cheers. Ken.
