Jim B Posted April 28, 2020 Author Share #42  Posted April 28, 2020 Well I used the new battery and reset the camera and used an m 75Noctilux. Worked fine high speed burst, and video. The battery was down to 1/2, put on an autofocus Sigma 35 1.2, wouldn’t burst or record. Didn’t bother putting an SL lens on. Perhaps I’ll just use the camera with the m lenses until they sort it out.
caissa Posted April 28, 2020 Share #43  Posted April 28, 2020 (edited) If the problem is the power consumption - as Leica hinted - then the cheapest solution would be to use an external usb pd battery bank. It costs much less than a single internal battery or even 8 of them (or even hundreds less than the grip) and the power is several times that of an internal battery. I use this since several months (Anker devices) with the SL2 and never had a problem with burst shots. I can only wonder why users here try to avoid this obvious and effective solution by any means.... Edited April 28, 2020 by caissa

For Sigma lenses as the 45mm there is an update which optimized the communication of power consumption in combination with the SL+CL cameras:https://www.sigma-global.com/en/download/lenses/firmware/ Did you try the update? 3 hours ago, Jim B said: Well I used the new battery and reset the camera and used an m 75Noctilux. Jim B Posted April 28, 2020 Author Share #45  Posted April 28, 2020 (edited) Camera firmware version 1.0 Lens firmware version 1.0 But this isn’t just with the one Sigma lens, it happen with Panny 70-200 2.8, and the Leica SL 90apo. I just updated the Sigma, thanks for the link. It worked and cleared the error message and camera would burst!  There’s New Firmware for Leica SL Lenses 3/25/20 !!! https://us.leica-camera.com/Service-Support/Support/Downloads?category=128329&subcategory=&type=&language=all Edited April 28, 2020 by Jim B
Exodies Posted May 1, 2020 Share #46  Posted May 1, 2020 Don’t get too excited: Please follow these steps to install the new firmware for your Leica L-mount lens: This instruction describes the update process if you are using a Leica CL to update the firmware of your Leica SL lens or if you are using a Leica SL to update the firmware of your Leica TL lens. SL-lens firmware updates are already included in the SL-camera firmware as well as TL-lens firmware updates are included in the CL- and TL-camera firmware.
