samwells Posted August 12, 2007 Share #9 Posted August 12, 2007 Steve - Beautiful mellow look to this, lovely glint from the lights; and thanx for bringing back youthful memories...went there in the mid-1960s, by train all the way from Victoria Station...stayed in a dilapidated villa in an island just offshore called Sveti Nikola...Tito was still in charge then. Sam, the last time I was there Tito was still in power, everything was very bureaucratic and the shops didn't have a lot to sell. It has changed a lot in the meantime and now is like a lot of other Adriatic/Mediterranean resorts. The old town is still very pretty though.
