lay9eggs Posted March 31, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 31, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just acquired a M5. I am awaiting its delivery. I'll need to buy a battery adaptor. I understand a gentleman by the name of Frans De Gruijter Zuidkade makes one. I sent an email to him at: battery.adapter@online.nl. I have not received a response. Does anyone know if he is still in business or did I get his address wrong? Thank you, Aaron

Lmax Posted March 31, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 31, 2020 My M5s (and several other cameras needing a PX625) are working well with this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/MR9-MR-9-PX625-PX13-Battery-Adapter-for-Film-Camera-Exposure-Meter-Mercury/130646083632?hash=item1e6b1d0830:g:hkIAAOxykMpTHFbQ
AndreasG Posted March 31, 2020 Share #3 Posted March 31, 2020 Or buy from a Japanese source here: http://www.kantocamera.com/english/adapter/adapter_en.html Important is, that the adapter reduces the voltage from 1.55 to 1.35 with a built-in diode, because many adapters are sold without this functionality. Furthermore, use the adapter with Silver oxide batteries like SR43.
lay9eggs Posted March 31, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted March 31, 2020 Thanks to Lmax and Andreas. Really appreciate it. Think I'll go with Kanto.
TomB_tx Posted March 31, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 31, 2020 I've used the MR-9 adapters with good results, but have had a couple fail such that the meter won't track in brighter light. So do a battery check (M5 frame selector to FAR left) before trusting for important work.
