Hello everybody, this is my first post after so long reading the forum from “outside” I finally registered.

I wanted to ask a question, the thing is that I am about to exchange my M6 classic titanium + around 380usd for a m240 to enter in the leica digital world.

both of them in a very good condition and the m240 with its box. Would you say is a fair trade?

thanks in advance!!

FedeFLR you are welcome here,

Why not, if you don't use your M6 anymore.

M240 is very nice entry to Leica digital M and it was a best seller before the M10,

now we can have the M240 much cheaper than M10 and as the two models user for many years,

I don't see much differences in their output images.

I had one years ago, it was replaced by M4/MP/M-A over time.

For me nothing special with M6 Ti , the VF flares as other M6 🙃.

I used for some years with pleasure, but ...life moves on.

I agree that it was a nice camera if... for me "replaceable at will".

Here my ex M6 Ti with my ex Summilux-M 35 asph. Ti 😌 very nice combo but "replaced"

Because I still have a m2 and a m4-p :) (that I use everyday)

would love to try the digital M!!

So start off with an M8. A more than capable camera, as long as you use IR filters for colour work. I prefer the output to the M240. Don't sell that M6 Titanium. Not only is it a great and great looking camera, it is a bit of an investment too.

it’s my best camera but I’d love to try something different

Just because. You don't always have to be able to explain everything. You don't give away some things. Just because ....

<Reasons?>

Because it's absolutely sure, that every few years there will be some new digital Leica, with more-and-more-and-more in it, with immediate impairment of the camera, which was State-of-the-Art the day before, while it is more than unlikely that Leica will ever produce a camera as beautiful as this/your M 6 again.

Depending on the condition of both cameras, the deal sounds decent to me. An excellent condition M240 can be had for $2500 USD or less here in the US, and I've seen Ti M6's in the $2000 - $2200 range. I think a M240 is a great entry into digital Leica, and considering you have other film M's, go for it!
