The206 Posted February 21, 2020 Share #1  Posted February 21, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having issues with an aps-c lens (sigma 18-35) on aps-c crop mode. Screen in video is fine but then in stills is totally messed up?? Is this the case with all aps-c lenses on the SL2, because if it is thats brutal and not something I can use. At 35mm this lens should cover the entire sensor and should be able to be used at 47mp, but it introduces this weird black L shaped box.   Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Hi The206, Take a look here APS-C LENS on SL2, weird crop??. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
digitalfx Posted February 21, 2020 Share #2  Posted February 21, 2020 No APS-C lens will cover the full sensor 15 hours ago, The206 said:  At 35mm this lens should cover the entire sensor and should be able to be used at 47mp, but it introduces this weird black L shaped box. If its an APS-C lens...it won't cover the full frame at any FL...so not sure what you mean. Do you have crop mode turned on? It appears in that image that you have the focus zoom enabled...is that the case? Does the lens have latest FW?  I tested a few Leica TL lenses and they didn't exhibit any issues...but its important to understand that an APS-C lens is not a full frame lens and the do not cover the full frame sensor at any FL
Boojay Posted February 21, 2020 Share #3 Â Posted February 21, 2020 As above, and with APS-C lens no longer 47mp - down to 20mp, still plenty. Â Stated clearly pretty much everywhere so shouldn't really be any surprise.

As Jayne said, with an APSC lens attached to the SL2 you won't get a 47MP image, you'll get an image of just over 20MP. This is the view with my TL35mm Summilux APSC lens attached on the SL2.  As digitalfx mentioned, check that you're running the latest FW on the lens Welcome, dear visitor! You should reset your camera. Be sure that both lens and SL2 have the latest firmware installed. If it does not work contact your customer service
