SL2+M35 vs M+M35

Hi,

what is your experience using the SL2+M35FLE for street photography? Is it very different from full M setup? Not so much in OVF vs EVF, heritage,.. but more in getting unnoticed, approachability, etc.

Depends if you put gaffer on the red dot of the M🤣     I'm already out....

I have an SL and used to own an M, and only use M glass on the SL. With M glass, for street I wouldn't really use the EVF, I'd use the rangefinder indicators on the lens and pre-set my focus and aperture. In this regards the M has an advantage because it is smaller and more discreet. But if I want to compose knowing exactly what will be in my frame including DOF and what the exposure will look like, the M can't do that of course.

I find rangefinder focusing with M quicker than manual focusing on SL. As they say: YMMV.
You can see DOF and exact framing with M cameras using LCD or EVF. Street photography is very well possible with M10’s EVF or LCD (Alan Schaller seems to use them a lot), but it may or may not work for you.
