Updated the camera to 3.1. Now only the gridline feature of Capture Assistant function works. Why might this be, and is there a solution?

Thanks for your response.I did press the center button. And I went through the drill of removing / reinserting the battery. The gridline is the only "Capture Assistant" that works.

(I also note, in passing, that after the firmware update, the focus point ("+") has acquired a life of its own, jumping between shots to wherever it wishes. Not a life-changing problem, of course, but it does require hunting it down before the next shot.)

You could try doing a factory reset?

Did you set all the capture assistants to "On"? If so you may wish to save a profile with those settings.

The factory reset did it, at least in terms of the Capture Assistant" features. The focus point (+) still dances to its own tune. Thank you.

Deactivate touch focus to avoid wandering focus point
