Dirk,

I love the shots with the vintage lenses. Dreamy.

Cheers!

Thanks Wilfredo - the shots with the Hektor are on the extreme side of the range though - not your everyday lens.

I have the Hektor at the moment on the bench for a full strip down - it will look not as extreme, when it is finished.

I found, that I really like the older lenses more, but do still keep a set of modern Leitz lenses for when I want resolution, detail and contrast paired with best ergonomics.

A nice candidate for your wish, to have a different lens to your modern 50mm is the 5cm Nikkor-S.C ƒ1.4 - it is a remarkable lens for it's age, surprisingly modern, when stopped down to f2 or more, but dreamy and crazy wide open.

The prices for these are on the rising and nice samples are hard to come by.

It is said, that you never sell a Nikkor-S.C, once you found one - I can assure you, this is true :D

HBasil,

I like crisp images and enjoy the level of sharpness in your images. Are you happy with your 50mm Nokton? I have a 50mm Summilux ASPH and thinking to get something with less clinical sharpness for those times when I don't want that.

Wilfredo,

if it's within the reach of your budget treat yourself with a PreAsph Summilux if you can find one. Creamy and dreamy open wide, Leica glow inclusive, however sharp on axis. Much more even and sharper when closing the stops. Kinda having two lenses into one.

Cheers,

Bruno

Holybasil, nice shot! I just bought this lens, its really good! did you code?

I agree, I love it. And yes I did code it. As a 28 elmarit asph. to get rid of the cyan corners.

It's plenty sharp I'd say, but it lacks the 'leica rendering'. And it only focuses to 0.9m.

I haven't used it since i got the 50 cron.
