stuny Posted August 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 7, 2007 John - Perhaps eliminations due to doping extended to the crowds, too.
ejd Posted August 7, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted August 7, 2007 Stuart, yes, the damp-squib ending seemed fitting for this very compromised event. It started to drizzle, and we wandered off to have some lunch. Lunch had been the intention from the start of the day, in fact. We just stumbled into the TdeF by accident, by going to the (excellent) Pierre et Gilles exhibition at the Jeu de Paume.

ejd Posted August 7, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted August 7, 2007 Bill, this particular Sunday was not warm. It was cloudy, grey, and there were a few drops of rain from time to time. The next day, Monday 30th, was very different: warm, glorious sunshine, crowds along the river in the 'Paris plage' areas the city has set up.
