Has anyone experienced that the screen goes black on Leica T? A bit confusing, but if one takes a photo the image indeed shows up on the screen so the screen can not be completely damaged, but there is no through the lens viewing.

I guess we need more answers to diagnose.

What do you mean "no through lens viewing"?

When does the screen go black? Is it after you have taken a shot or randomly?

What time limits do you have on the screen display?

Have you changed any of the camera settings recently?

How long have you owned the camera?

Assuming this means no live view but image review works - is the screen visible for adjusting settings etc or always blank until you take a picture?

Also have you previously used the evf - could damage/shorting of the hotshoe pins fool the camera into thinking an evf is attached? Or some kind of firmware glitch re the evf/evf extended ootions?

On my CL if I make a photo in full sunshine the try to do a photo in a deep shadow the screen will be black, but if you look at the exposure and it is all red on the left, opps lower the shutter speed/fstop. Had taken a picture yesterday the left the camera at 1/2000, then this afternoon I had an image that required 1/160, before I changed the shutter speed the screen was black and the camera's meter was all red to the left.

Do you have the camera on EVF only? My other answer.

or the live view is off and set to EVF only ?

I am not that familiar with the T - it just came to me in a package with lenses I intend to use on the CL. I consulted the instruction manual - I don`t find anything on turning live view off. Anyone knows how to do this?

I have owned the camera only for a couple of days. No issues with the seller - he was quite clear on this. It was the lenses that I wanted. No live viewing at all is possible with lens attached. When I take a picture, auto review sets in and I see the photo in a normal manner. This should tell me that the screen probably not is broken?

Leica T prices are so low now that a repair is probably not an issue.

Yes, the screen is perfect for adjusting menues etc.

If you have not done it yet I would suggest doing 6 things:

1) Download the handbook for the T from the Leica website and have a good read about settings

2) Register your camera with Leica in the owners section of the site

3) Download the latest version of the T firmware onto a USB drive, carefully following instructions

4) Do a complete reset of all the camera settings

5) Install the latest firmware

6) Adjust the settings to your preferences

if not of that works then I suggest it needs to go back to Leica to get fixed.

After-shot lag i suspect. Disabling auto review may help. I have no experience with the T though.

You cannot disable auto review with the T
