Simple... try the SL 90-280 for a while and then the 24-90 will seem petite. For me, IBIS on the SL2 adds great handholding flexibility with these zooms (in addition to OIS in each). Primes and zooms can coexist within or between systems.  Different tools and user experiences. Jeff Edited January 8, 2020 by Jeff S
Advertisement Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Hi Jeff S, Take a look here An SL 50mm Dilemma. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
setuporg Posted January 8, 2020 Share #62  Posted January 8, 2020 I was extremely happy that the 24-90 options fell through before I got the 35mm and 50mm APO primes.  I also added a 16-35mm SVE to it and feel the SL kit is complete — for longer and shorter I can use the M 24/28 and 75 Cron/Lux, 90 Cron, 135 APO Telyt.  It’s much better to get the lovely shots from the primes in 35 and 50 than carry an excitable donkey, IMHO.  A standard zoom makes one lazy.  Might as well get one of those cameras with a fixed superzoom. Depends on one’s approach.  Same has been said about moving from film to digital; too easy to fire off pics.  I shoot roughly the same amount per outing now as I did in my film and darkroom days.  Discipline and purpose, is all.
