@Chaemono

Thanks.

I found it.

Are somewhere the RAWs available to check pictures in COP?

Jochen

Not for these, because either of them can be made to look really bad if the shadows are pushed hard enough.  An ISO 3200 SL2 file as underexposed as that one can only take lifting of Shadows to +30 in LR.  The Z7 ISO 3200 file has a bit more adjustment latitude but not to the max.

Frankly speaking I cannot understand this eyes AF obsession Im reading many times in various topics, with spot and SL2 AF it works perfectly.

Camera has already too much automatic features to me.Otherwise what's the point of taking photos if all done by the camera ?

I appreciate your message (but maybe not the tone...)

It's not so much I'm looking for the camera to do the work for me, as I am using both AF and Manual lenses.  The issue for me is that the majority of my photos do not seem to be in focus regardless of how much I try. I have very few that come out ok, but loads more where the focus is off. I'm worried that I may have a faulty unit.

This is really helpful, thank you for sharing.

I'm envious you have so many cameras to hand!! 😄

Out of interest, of all the cameras which one is your preferred in terms of handling, features and IQ?

The CL.  I don’t own any of the Sony cameras you see there and the Z7 is almost gone.

Hey sorry nothing against you obviously.

Really strange if AF most of the times is wrong , could be instead  blurred images with Ibis off ?

try some static subject, if you get green box together with sound AF must ok.

could you post some of them ?

Hi

I've been back to work after the xmas break and I havent had a chance to play with the camera much, but I will try and upload some of the photos which show the focus issue later.

Thanks

After some more testing I’m convinced that there is something not right with the focusing of the camera. I’m not sure if there is a correlation or not, but I recently saw on Facebook that some others were having a problem with their joystick, which can be identified by squeaking sound when you use it. My joystick also does this and I’m wondering if the issue is messing with my focus point.

i can’t seem to share the URL, but if you go to the Leica SL2 public group on Facebook you will see some videos showing the issue including one of mine.

So I’m returning my camera and have asked for a replacement. God knows how long it will be until I get one back though as I’m told there is still a long waiting list.

I have squeaking sound by my Sony A7II Zeiss 24-70 after using of 3 years.

But pictures are good.

Heard back from Park Cameras and they have noted the issue with the joystick. They have requested a replacement but I have no idea when I will get it.

I forgot to attach some of the photos as requested earlier.

For the first photo (ending 51.jpg), the spot focus point was on cloest to the camera eye - but as you can see the photo is not in focus.

For the second photo (ending 63.jpg), the spot focus point on was the top of the nose, between the eyes.

I stupidly deleted the photos taken with the 24-90mm AF lens when I thought they were unusable, but if i find some on my capture one library i'll upload them too to show it's not just a manual focus issue.

Try refreshing your browser. It's a known bug in the forum software.

Thanks LocalHero, I've managed to upload one more!

Focus was meant to be on children, but ended up on the sleigh in front of them.
