padam Posted January 19, 2020 Share #81 Posted January 19, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's been almost a year without it, since it came back from the CLA, it a lot of other lenses have gotten more attention so only used it once or twice since. But it is still probably the best. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! HQ It's a 'risky' lens to use for me, I have to use the magnifier in the EVF which difficult to focus and compose at the same time (while also hitting the shutter at the right time and keeping it focus) Haven't tried the latest cameras with the 5.76 million EVFs, that might help. epand56 Posted February 24, 2020 Share #88 Posted February 24, 2020 I browsed through the pictures, in this 5 pages thread, and find no picture from this expensive lens that my 350 € Voigtlander Color-Heliar 75/2.5 can't replicate.

This is a lovely example of what this lens can achieve - nose to fringe in soft focus, gently rolling off to out of focus, and the look in the child's eyes just makes a perfect portrait.

This is technically untrue. I owned the VC 75/2.5 and it sure is a remarkable lens with a very nice drawing. But it couldn’t ever reach that selective focus as the 75lux, the closest object distance is already much closer in the Lux. ‘Replicate’ is in my view a scientific concept to demonstrate that empirical findings confirm a theory because they can be repeated in different researches. If you mean that the esthetic value of a Summilux 75 can just as well be attained with a VC75/2.5, this cannot be a rational argument but just an opinion. 4
