I’m not aware of any reduction in Image quality from shooting in continuous mode. Depending on the speed you choose, the buffer will fill up and your FPS will slow down. No big deal. It’ll clear. I often use the low or medium setting when shooting groups to capture multiple images close together. That way I do minimize closed eyes for instance or get subtle differences in smiles. All good. I love the Q /Q2 in this area in spite of the slow buffer at times.

I wonder why there should be a reduction in in quality. I struggle to think up any technical reason.

because the shots might be out of focus due to the focus not re-locking everytime in AF-C?

the OP's "loss of quality" question reminded me of a 90's "rewind the CD" joke.:)

I have heard and read that both the Q2 and the M10 have similar "buffer filled"  specs, does anyone here have real life real time thoughts on using both? Which camera's buffer will jam first when shooting continuous? thanks for any help.

I don't have an M10 to compare, but my Q2 with a very fast card will stop shooting after 9 raw+jpeg photos shot quickly on single shot mode. It then slows way down until the buffer empties. This makes raw+jpeg mode less useful for photojournalistic assignments. (In jpeg only it will shoot pretty much indefinitely.)

I tested this with a Sandisk 300 mb/s card.

The Q2 will hit its buffer limit MUCH quicker than the M10 simply due to the file sizes. I can machine gun with my M10 but with the Q2 the camera will lock up and need to catch its breath after 12-15 rapidly fire frames.

Thank you.

No problem, Mark. It's unfortunate because the slow buffer rate on the Q2 really kills the experience for me.

I was able to get a demo M10p,  which is in the mail as we speak. This is a much better fit for me.

Thx again,

Mark
