Bobby Posted December 12, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, I'm trying to decide between the MD 262 and the M10-D. I like the 262 because of it's almost infinite battery life. In addition, I've found one in very good conditions and don't really mind the extra tickness. The main blocker for me for the M10-D is price, as I can find the 262 for half the price. Does anyone have experience with both, and is the M10-D worth more than the 262? a.noctilux Posted December 12, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 12, 2019 Hello, same question here ... (link to the thread) I'm happy user of M-D (typ 262) and plain M10 but not M10-D. When I want something special "no screen" and "as crude as can be", the M-D shines specifically mounted with the nice/small/short Summaron-M 28mm. When I want a camera that "can do the most", I just grab the M10 with spare batterie... In use they are very different with two types of mindset and I can't tell in results which is which when viewing files. Any one will give good pictures with almost same sensor, only you can give them a try.

Is it true that battery life with the MD 262 is greatly reduced with firmware 1.0.0.4? I never have any problem with the M-D's battery life from start, even with firmware 1.0.0.4. Now my M-D is with # 1.0.0.5 and always happy with my monthy replacement battery use (opposed to one or two per day with plain M10 ! ). With many thousands of "frames" and "analog use", no worry for battery, I think it's the most "effective/green camera". Most of time, I replace the M-D's battery at 10% or 15% when I see this figure in the VF when putting it on or pushing the function button once a week.
