Herr Barnack Posted January 3, 2020 Share #21 Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) This is what I use for close ups with my M-P 240: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/379022-REG/Novoflex_CROSS_Q_CROSS_Q_Castel_Cross_Q_Focusing_Rack.html and - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1443902-REG/novoflex_lem_vis_iii_adapter_for_visoflex_ii_iii.html You could use both your 50 mm Summarit and 90mm Elmarit-M with this setup. These two Novoflex pieces combined aren't exactly flea market priced, but they are considerably less costly than https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1054674-REG/leica_11670_90mm_for_4_macro_elmar_m.html Edited January 3, 2020 by Herr Barnack

If I personally cared about close-anything, I would use something other than an M for it. Same as I do for telephoto, video. Yes, that's great but the OP was looking for a low cost initial solution for doing a bit of "macro". Even buying the cheapest "something other" camera and lens is likely to cost a bit more than the 60 quid he's spent on the Chinese OUFRO copy. The results look fine (certainly for the money). Now if the OP is out and about doing casual photography with his M and sees something he'd like to do a close-up of he can take the 'OUFRO' out of his bag (or pocket) and he's in a position to take a few macro photos. Are you suggesting that if he "cared about close-anything" he should, in addition to his M, be lugging around a specialist macro lens and camera to go with it (perhaps a Nikkor 105/F2.8 and D850) just on the off chance he will want to take a close-up photo? astrostl Posted January 4, 2020 Share #23 Posted January 4, 2020 When unspecified, "on a budget" is especially relative in Leica-land 🤷♂️ Wouldn't suggest a D850 and a Nikkor. Might suggest a tiny sub-$1000 USD Ricoh GR III, which has a ton of general utility in addition to a solid macro mode.
stevegaskin Posted February 22, 2020 Author Share #24 Posted February 22, 2020 (edited) So I've just acquired a table top 'light-box' so decided to give another try to the 'Chinese' Leica OUFRO 16469Y I recently purchased. The shots were taken using Summarit 50mm, Elmarit 28mm & Elmarit 90mm lenses on the M10. I love the way you can use wide aperture to exaggerate the DOF. Now realise I need to clean the cameras Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! I don't have Focoslide myself, but I use some exotic accessories Beoon, Visoflex, bellows, exotic rings from LTM, Boowu, etc. Edited May 1, 2020 by a.noctilux
