Hi, I have am Elmarit-M 28mm 2.8 6-bit (I believe version 3), which came with a clip-on lens hood. I'm trying to establish if there is a clip-on cap for the hood and it's reference number if there is one. Could anyone help please?

Thanks

maybe this one: Leica Cap for Lens Hood #12589

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/89435-REG/Leica_14040_Lens_Hood_Cap.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514&gclid=CjwKCAiA8qLvBRAbEiwAE_ZzPUuxLqmGB-huD5AViZDC37VrEBqVTVzHJ3yDCS09NNDYEnV-C3ErRhoCSKkQAvD_BwE

I have 35mm  cron with this type of hood. While effective, it's a pain inside the bag, and the square cap comes loose very easy.

just get a generic center pinch lens cap - that way you can use it with or without hood

Steve, have a look at the engravings on the hood.

If your hood is "12451", your lens is 28mm Elmarit-M version IV.

In this case, the cap is of size in mm 63x49, product number 14013 ...same as for Summicron-M 28mm

My v4 hood/cap looks like this:

Written on the circumference of the hood itself is: "M 2.8/28 A 49 12547"
