Hi there!

I anybody using Sigma L lenses on the SL2? Thinking of exchanging my Canon gear with a SL2 to complement my M gear and finally getting rid of all that boring Canon things.

Just wondering if there are any issues with slower AF on non native lenses etc.

Thanks for any advice.

Would like to know that too - I would like to use 14-24 Sigma and thinking of getting 24-70 and not the 24-90 Leica.... or is the 24-90 that good?

the 24-90 is not that good. I mean it is good, but it is just too expensive and heavy and not having a2.8 all the way, I don't know why they did that.

I tested it (I owned the SL and that lens once) against the canon 24-70 and saw no difference in rendering of images, only that the canon is faster, cheaper and much lighter...

Here is a Picture of one of our kitchens I took on the weekend with the Sigma 14-24 this is shot wide open and I was very pleased overall

not as contrasty as Leica but very clean and the distortion is very well controlled

Another possibility is the Panasonic 24-105/4.

I have now SONY A7RMIII with 12-24 and 24-105 (both Sony) for work. Thought of going Leica with Sigma 12-24 and 24-70 for a bit fun because of Leica SL, but I am not sure if that would be right.

I am waiting for my SL2, but the Sigma 35 1.2 on my a7r iv is a really nice lens.  If I end up selling my Sony I will be picking it up for the SL2 (I use 50mm most often, so I'll stick with the APO Cron at that FL).

I have the 35 1.2 Art paired with my SL.  I would love to know how it works with your SL2 when it arrives.  Thanks.

The 35/1.2 Art is great on the SL2.  I have the 35 Cron SL and the 35/1.2 Art and I prefer the Art as wide open its rendering, contrast, and separation make for some very unique shots.   The 35 Cron is great, but the Sigma 35/1.2 stands out.  I had it in E mount for my A7r4, and it also did wonders there.  The SL2 shots look great with it as well.

The 45/2.8 is pretty solid too but it’s def not as sharp as either one.  It’s nice to have something portable and AF-able.

For my SL2 kit: I’m going with the 28 Cron SL (when it comes out), the 35/1.2 Sigma, the 50 Cron, and the Sigma 85/1.4 Art.

The 45/2.8 is kind of outside the range, good for some light weight carry around work.

The 28/1.4 Sigma Art is also one of the Sigma Art lines top wide or normal length performer.  Only bested by the 35/1.2, but not even the 40/1.4 Art can get there like the 28 Art.

As for zooms: May get the 24-90, as it’s only one stop outside the Crons, and don’t know how long it’ll take to get a 28mm field of view with the Crons.  I hear the Sigma 28-70/2.8 zoom is really nice for Mirrorless L mount and E.

To sum it up:  Sigma Art lenses can replace/or stand in for the 35 Cron (35/1.2 Sigma),  the 75 Cron and/or the 90 Cron (85/1.4 Art), and the Sigmas
