In David Farkas' SL2 overview on the Red Dot Forum and You tube, he speaks about the many differences between the SL TYP 601 and the SL2, one of which being that the LCD on the SL2 is made of ultra-hard Gorilla Glass. Can that be confirmed? I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else.

With that said, I've heard from some folks who have certain "M" Series cameras which feature Gorilla Glass stating that it can still be scratched.

Does Leica (or anybody else for that matter make a decent SL2 LCD Protector, which allows for touch screen capability?

Thanks!

Leica doesn't (yet) - but a quick search on google showed some supplier offering protectors for SL2. I ordered those ones in Germany for a couple of EUROS and they perfectly fit. I guess they are available in ROW as well by various suppliers.

Also, my m-p240 had a sapphire glass screen, which is supposedly even harder than gorilla glass; yet, that scratched in a bag with a camera strap buckle.

grrrrr ..... metal bits on camera straps should be banned. I've removed, substituted or taped over anything metallic on all my various straps.

I'm confused. The photo's shown in the B & H ad's clearly show that there is a screen protector provide on the New Leica SL-2.. However, when I received my new SL-2 it did not have this. I thought this was odd as my new TL-2 did indeed have a Leica screen protector installed at the factory. My brother also purchased a new SL-2 AND and SL-2S. BOTH of these show the screen protector factory installed in the B & H ads but neither had them upon delivery. Initially one might say "what's the big deal?" THE BIG DEAL is it make's one question if (you) are actually receiving a new product or one that was previously, sold, used, or returned......When you are speaking of almost 7K just for the camera body this is a VERY big deal. The obvious first sign of wear would be the screen..
