S adapter on CL

I have just bought a CL and have the S/SL adapter obviously it works well with the SL. I hope that this might be a software update issue but maybe someone else who is in this group might have already asked Leica about this issue?

I seem to recall someone else talking about this, with the resolution from Leica support stating that it wasn't compatible with the CL or T series bodies.

Nope.  The S/SL adapter has never worked on the CL and I suppose on the TL as well.  And there has never been a promise to correct this.  Leica seems to find it inappropriate.  I guess there would be CL firmware changes required.

I’m just confused about why they would not let use use our wonderful S glass on here if we wanted or needed to. Maybe I will see about taping over the contact to see if I can make a dead connection. Obviously I won’t then be able too change aperture but the S100mm who really cares

Perhaps there are engineering/technical reasons why the S lenses can't be supported on the CL/T series bodies. Hard to say since they haven't provided any information other than that the adapter isn't compatible. Leica usually does have a reason for why they do things, it's hard to debate it in the absence of any useful information.

As far as I understand it, the CL/TL-batteries don't provide enough power to 'drive' the S-lenses. To run the S-lenses in fully manual mode (with fixed aperture and manual focussing) is, as we understand it, not an option for Leica...
