mikegml Posted October 18, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'll swear I've seen somewhere it's possible to get intermediate speeds such as 1/90th from the Q. I can't see anything in the manual. So what's the trick if there is one?
Advertisement Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Hi mikegml, Take a look here Intermediate Shutter Speeds. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Viv Posted October 18, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 18, 2019 If you shoot using Aperture Priority the camera will select intermediate shutter speeds, as required by the light conditions.

In the manual it states that the shutter speed can be adjusted in increments in conjunction with 'scene' modes but I can't work out how this is done. mikegml Posted October 18, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted October 18, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the review of the Q in DP review March 23 2016, they also refer to being able to adjust in 1/3 increments unless I'm misunderstanding something. Matsaly Posted October 18, 2019 Share #8 Posted October 18, 2019 On both Q-P & Q2 you most certainly can select an "intermediate" shutter speed when in "shutter priority" mode. Methodology: 1) Rotate shutter speed dial to a fixed value setting, eg: 1/60 2) Use thumbwheel to rotate either left or right to select intermediate value. In the example of 1/60, you can choose 1/40, 1/50, [1/60], 1/80 or 1/100.
mikegml Posted October 18, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted October 18, 2019 (edited) Thanks. Tried that with my Q but it doesn't work. I'm on firmware 3.0. Just checked and there's a new version 3.1. I install it and see what I get. Edited October 18, 2019 by mikegml
mikegml Posted October 18, 2019 Author Share #10 Posted October 18, 2019 👍👍 👍 Yes! Sure enough intermediate shutter speeds available in Shutter P'. Thanks. Surprised that with so many experts on here that answer didn't come quicker, but all is well with the world now.
