Heath Posted October 14, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All - I have a Leica CL and when the electronic shutter option is either on OFF or EXTENDED, I sometimes hear shutter noise (as if it’s firing/closing or locking up) when powering down my camera. This does not happen in electronic shutter ALWAYS ON mode. This noise seems random and only happens sometimes. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? Any further suggestions or insight would be helpful. Thanks a lot, Heath

Heath Posted October 14, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted October 14, 2019 Thanks for the responses - was a bit concerned but sounds like more common than I thought. Any idea what the noise is exactly though?
ramarren Posted October 14, 2019 Share #5 Posted October 14, 2019 (edited) same here. Nothing to worry about. I can only conjecture that it's the sound of the shutter resetting itself on power down, for some reason. Again, nothing to worry about. Had it happen with both my SL and CL, and with some other cameras as I recall as well. Edited October 14, 2019 by ramarren

Not bad that the shutter works from time to time otherwise, in my case, it could become as rusty as my articulations.

Still seems strange nonetheless and would be nice to what it is and why so random. Cheers
