ash13brook Posted October 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are all M mount and LTM w/adapter lenses compatible with a 262. I realize that some functions may not be available on older lenses, will they at least work in full manual mode? Thanks, Matt

RayD28 Posted October 5, 2019 Share #5 Posted October 5, 2019 I believe a 50mm Cron DR is not fully compatible.

True, focus only to about 10m, infinity is not reachable with M262 and other M8/M9/M240. But RF usable from 48cm with "goggles"... to about 10m. M10 is the only digital Leica that I can use the 50 DR Summicron (Somni) without modification. Precaution is always true also while mounting set the focus ring to about 1.5m before mounting. ... As usual, using collapsible lenses with care (a ring of something to limit the collapsing inside the body) : not with the new Elmar-M 2.8/50 or Macro-Elmar-M 4/90 which collapsing is limited by design. ash13brook Posted October 5, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted October 5, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks, again. I haven't been interested in the DR. A collapsible Elmar is in my future for next year sometime, though. I'll be sure and leave it on the iiif that I buy with it. Matt
Gregm61 Posted October 5, 2019 Share #8 Posted October 5, 2019 (edited) The current 90mm f4 is perfectly usable and can be collapsed into any M body. It's the classic 50's and 60's lenses where the issues with the modern bodies have to be accounted for. Edited October 5, 2019 by Gregm61
goodtimes Posted October 12, 2019 Share #9 Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) Hi All. I use both classic and modern collapsible 50mm f2.8 Elmar on my M262 and M8.2 and there is no problem to collapse them. I'm just carefull to extend them before mounting them on the camera body.
