Advertisement Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Hi setuporg, Take a look here S lenses on X1D. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
John McMaster Posted September 19, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 19, 2019 Once you reverse engineer the S lenses and build an adapter that mates Hasselblad contacts to Leica.... In short, no - there are no (worthwhile) adapters for S lenses to anything other than the SL. john
setuporg Posted September 19, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted September 19, 2019 Yes what I’m thinking is nothing should prevent the S lenses from usage on the X1D as the flange distance is longer on the S, so you basically pad it with an adapter. Either reverse engineering or better amicable partnership of sorts would be a practical step, but first I want to check that the possibility exists optically and physically. peterv Posted September 19, 2019 Share #4 Posted September 19, 2019 Optically, the official numbers for the image circle of an S lens and the Hasselblad X1D are 54 and 55 mm respectively. So theoretically there might be some vignetting or softer corders going on, but in practice I wouldn’t expect too much trouble🙂 The question about adapting S lenses has come up regularly and someday someone will make one, I guess.
Photon42 Posted September 19, 2019 Share #5 Posted September 19, 2019 I would guess if there will ever be one, it will first be for Fuji. They have a shutter in camera which gives you commercially a broader client base.
