Hi All:

I use it mostly at f/1.2.  This is my first 35mm prime.  I have used the SL 24-90 extensively and found that I was shooting in the 35-45 range for in close portraits.  I considered the 40 1.4 Art but I decided on the 35 1.2 Art as it is native L mount and mirrorless only in design and of course faster.  I have the 105 1.4 Art on a Novoflex AF adapter and it's quality is spectacular so I figured the 35 1.2 Art would be sufficient for my needs.  And it is.  Interestingly, the 35 1.2 Art is exactly the same size as my SL 24-90.  The 35 1.2 is very versatile as the close focus distance allows near macro performance for detail shots.  FYI, I have had my SL since Feb 2017 and have been following this forum since before then.  This is a fantastic forum.

I will attach some sample pics.  Please excuse the watermarks and res.  Images have been edited to my vision.

But for the size, def an incredible lens.  I had the sigma 28/1.4 art, and it was also extremely top notch, but the 35/1.2 def bests it with IQ and the incremental advances made at f1.2.   The 28 did have full MF over ride with the focus ring which the 35 doesn’t have.  Both put out some excellent files.
