that's why they use this lens still today. But 178 mm on Leica (or full-frame nowadays) is a Little bit too long for such works. If you are shooting 4x5'' it's fine and if you mind the radioacitve glass the Dallmeyer Pentac 1:2.9/8.5 '' is Pretty good, too.

Bear in mind these lenses are quite heavy , over 1 kg , closer to 1,5kg.

It is a losing effort. Aerial lenses are just horrible for land-based, small format use.

Oi, if there are still sadly misinformed dreamers of using a Kodak Aero Ektar 178mm, why for just shipping $ I will send one wreck of the lens which will still give an idea of just how useless it is.
