BXL Gotham Posted September 3, 2019 Share #1  Posted September 3, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thinking of grabbing the CL and pairing it to my Rokkor 40mm. That would effectively give me a 60mm equivalent lens. Has anyone tried this?
Advertisement Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Hi BXL Gotham, Take a look here Rokkor 40mm M mount from Minolta CLE on the CL?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted September 3, 2019 Share #2  Posted September 3, 2019 The M-Rokkor 40/2 for Minolta CLE works flawlessly on the digital CL. Can ever use the rubber hood of the M-Rokkor 90/4 w/o vignetting thanks to the crop factor. Only con its 0.8m MFD compared to modern lenses but the Summicron-C 40/2 has the same. Makes for a balanced combo on the digital CL which doesn't nose down when it is placed on a flat surface, even when the rubber hood referred to above is expanded. Nice IQ similar to that of the Summicron-C with a bit less flare but the lens is not flare free as you know. None of my 35/2, 40/2 or 50/2 Leica M lenses is flare free anyway and flare is visible in the CL's EVF if any. 60mm may feel a bit tight for people preferring wider focal lengths but it allows to shoot both eyes open at medium distance (about 5 m.).
g2van Posted September 3, 2019 Share #3  Posted September 3, 2019 I have used that combo - yes it works very well. Other advantages of this combo include: - ability to scale focus for fastest shooting - like snap focus on Ricoh GR, except easier, faster and more intuitive - it's very light: 185g with the M-L adapter (weight of a smart phone)
