My mother, as a 17-y-o girl, enlisted and spent the 1939-1945 years in the / as a WAAF serving in the RAF Plotting Station base on the Isle of Wight and was - figuratively speaking - the person represented at the extreme left of the first window. To see this window installed in the chapel of what was such an important Battle of Britain-era airbase during that conflict was quite an affecting experience.

That’s wonderful, I had the honor to meet both a Polish & British Wing Commander, both in active service towards the end of WWll.
Northolt (West London) was a Polish fighter base. Very interesting stories about the Polish fighter pilots & also the base. The Queens Flight (Elizabeth ll) was originally based at Northolt.. 🍷
