I have to ask; which one single lens do you currently keep? Quite a few in this forum (including myself) «play» scenarios on which lenses to bring/keep if so and so... but you seem to have made a real choice 😉

regards

I always sell my lenses and buy the new one for testing.

Right now i own the summilux 35 pre-asph (Titanium). some situations i really like it some not.

sometimes the glow from this lens is too much.

overall, this lens is good with good skin tone and rendering like dream feeling :)

for this forum if i have to pick for one lens and budget is not problem i prefer the summilux :)

Until this afternoon, I was using an adapted Elmarit-R, to shoot at 28mm, with my M-system cameras. I decided to buy a pre-owned sample of the Elmarit--M designed by Walter Mandler, known as Version III, in pursuit of a particular “signature,” rather than concern myself with edges and corners. Other leading contenders were the newest Elmarit-M ASPH, and the Summaron-M, each for different reasons, with the newest ASPH being the obvious choice, if I prioritized edges and corners. Before this whole exercise is finished, I may well have added the newest ASPH, as well as the Summaron-M; three 28mm M lenses, each for a different use case.

I've got two 28's for different applications; a CV 3,5/28 LTM for a Monochrom and the latest Elmarit ASPH for the M10. For 1/2 the price of the heavier 28 Summicron, the tiny, and stellar Elmarit is a tour de force of design and engineering.

The Barnack spirit for me (and why I parted with massive DSLRs), is the freedom afforded by a capable, small jewel-like camera matched to a compact & superb optic. I passed on the bloat of the M240 for this reason. The heft of Noctiluxes and Summiluxes seem to flip this concept on its head.

No other lens is as good in separating a subject through both perspective and focus.  The 28 summilux is outstanding and other than for weight includes what the other two can do.
