Hi, I've got a light leak in only a few photos interspersed throughout each roll in the exact same spot on my M3. Photo edited to highlight leak shape. Any idea on the source of the leak? Thanks!

You need to check the film. Does the leak appear only within the exposed frame are or is it over the whole film area, i.e. where the sprocket holes are?

It is likely to be either slack shutter curtains or a light leak from the viewfinder area - there are fabric seals which seem to disintegrate over time.

Thanks everyone! I just checked the film and the leak is indeed over the sprocket holes too, so I'll try taping over the back.

Does anyone know what a reasonable estimate for repair would be if it's indeed the back door seal?

Youxin Ye charges $180 for CLA of M3's. You'd have to contact him to verify, but I'd think light seal replacement would be included.

He did my M4 and several vintage lenses in the past to my satisfaction.
