MAK Posted July 18, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I read so many rave reviews of the Q that I decided to buy one. I chose the QP. I would have ordered the Q2 but it is another $1000 and from what I've read the Q is so highly thought of, how could I go wrong? I pulled the trigger today, ordered from Miami to avoid the tax I would have to pay if I ordered from B&H here in NY. I am greatly looking forward to it. I have been shooting with a Fuji XES-2, and it's been fine, and a little Leica X-1.
Advertisement Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Hi MAK, Take a look here Just Ordered a QP from Miami Leica. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
PeterBoyadjian Posted July 18, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 18, 2019 Isn't the QP $4000?, IMO I would go for the extra grand and grab a Q2. Or just buy a used Q at $2400.
Jeffry Abt Posted July 18, 2019 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2019 MAK, The Q is a fine camera. Have fun and enjoy!
abhishek Posted July 18, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 18, 2019 I tied to order Q2 and the waiting time on it is so ridiculous . Hence got the QP too . Boy ! It’s so classy with the matte finish and no screaming red dot

Mr.Q Posted July 19, 2019 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2019 I went from the Q2 to the Q-P and couldn't be happier. The @Matsaly "power switch mod" eliminated the only complaint I ever had with the camera. The red ring gives it a Panasonic look but I dig it Welcome, dear visitor! m410 Posted July 19, 2019 Share #7 Posted July 19, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) MAK, I feel the Leica Q ( and probably P and 2 as well) is the best travel camera built by anyone. I have experienced more "keepers" from my Leica Q than out of all my other Leica Camera and lens combinations. It is fast to focus, nice lens and light. Btw, get an extra battery or two. Enjoy your new camera. jDD Edited July 19, 2019 by jDD-m410 because
hdmesa Posted July 20, 2019 Share #8 Posted July 20, 2019 Love my Q-P. Only issue is that matte finish is really grippy and it makes the Q-P lens cap difficult to remove, especially the first time. Keep wiggling the cap while pulling straight until it comes off – don't try and unscrew it or you'll take off the lens protector ring with it, which will remain "stuck" inside the cap. JeremyG Posted July 20, 2019 Share #9 Posted July 20, 2019 The Q is a superb camera so enjoy it, I guess the Q2 is a higher specification but do you really need it?

Need and want are two entirely different things. I didn't need the Q2, but I definitely wanted it. Bad! So I got it and I’m delighted with the camera. A number of other folks did the same thing.
