Rhyl in North Wales this afternoon. The town isn't what it used to be, that's for sure.

 

I would have provided a more overcast sky and light, but for once this summer bright light was all that there was.

I think the light is just right, hel;ping to accentuate the down-hill luck of the place and the down hill run of the ride.

I've just read your blog to go with this picture - excellent piece of writing. As Andy says very sad to see these places in decline. They were a part of my childhood as well but I certainly don't miss the cold winds on wet skin after dips in the freezing sea!

Thanks guys. Yes, it's sad to see these places in decline, but dare I say that I find the decay interesting?

 

I had another shot planned for this showing the full building and the roller coaster, but between parking my car and walking to the spot someone parked a car on the pavement in exactly the right place to get in the way of that shot. One to return to while it's still possible.
