Rasputin Posted June 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here. I own a D-Lux Typ 109, my first ever Leica, which I often use to document my personal and professional travels. Anyway, I started noticing dirt (a speck and a few fiber-like objects) on my photos whenever I shoot with high aperture and shutter speed settings. Is my lens just dirty, or is it damaged? Have any of you experienced such? Looking forward to your advice and thanks in advance! Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted June 19, 2019 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2019 I would guess there are tiny dust spots on the sensor. If there is a Leica facility near you (such as if you were in the Greater New work metropolitan area, there is a facility in northern New Jersey) they may be able to open the camera and clean the sensor for you.
Rasputin Posted June 28, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted June 28, 2019 Thank you for the response Stuny! I am based in the Philippines and there's a Leica outlet here in Manila. I brought it to them, and I was told that they'll have to send the camera to Singapore to have it checked. I'll think about it...😄 Cheers!
fotografr Posted June 29, 2019 Share #4 Posted June 29, 2019 It's dirt on the sensor. I've had to send my D(109) to Leica once already for cleaning and now have the same problem. I believe it's unavoidable with cameras that have retracting lenses. Dust gets on the lens barrel and when the camera is turned off the dust gets carried into the camera body.
