Xieleilei Posted June 7, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just got my Leica Q from Amazon ( I actually ordered q2 from adorama almost three months ago. But the long wait really frustrated me so I ordered a q) But I find, after I took a shot, it took the camera 3-5 sec to save the file. It must be something wrong, right? I checked all settings, only saving JPG, etc. None of them works. I used the same SD card for my X-100T and the saving speed is totally fine. Is this a defective camera? Any suggestions? Really appreciate your help!
Advertisement Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Hi Xieleilei, Take a look here Long delay after a shot for Leica Q. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted June 7, 2019 Share #2 Posted June 7, 2019 Have you tried asking your chosen dealer? He has a responsibility for after-sales service. A Leica dealer would definitely answer your questions. In the meantime, check battery fully charged. Try another, preferably new memory card.

Really appreciate your help! The default setting plays back the image you took for a few seconds and makes it seem like the camera is waiting for the image to write to the card. You don’t have to wait until the red light goes off to take the next shot. Turning off image review may be what you’re looking for. Also make sure you formatted the memory card in camera. If you don’t, the Q will be trying to access/read the card too much.
Leica Guy Posted June 7, 2019 Share #4 Posted June 7, 2019 If those suggestions do not work I’d try a reset of the camera firmware, but I think you’ll be fine following the already mentioned ideas.
LexS Posted June 7, 2019 Share #5 Posted June 7, 2019 Whatever Auto Review time 0, 1, 3, 5 secs you have set: the photo is written immediately. you can immediately take a next photo by pressing the shutter button halfway.
Tobers Posted June 7, 2019 Share #6 Posted June 7, 2019 Did you accidentally have the camera in continuous shooting mode and trigger 10-15 images to be taken? This would take some time to write to the card. And when you review on the back of the camera it just looks like one image but will have a play icon in the middle that will cycle through all 10-15 images in the sequence.

tnturnerx1 Posted July 3, 2019 Share #9 Posted July 3, 2019 I just got my Q2 yesterday, and have a problem. Maybe your problem is the same. I thought the same thing as you: the red light keeps blinking and it appears to take a long time writing the image. NO, it's recording a video. I can't seem to take a still shot. Every time I press the shutter down, it goes into video recording. YOu can tell than by looking at the LCD and you will see a tiny video icon in lower left of display. I don't know how I can take a still shot.
Stephen_C Posted July 4, 2019 Share #10 Posted July 4, 2019 Try repeated presses of the rear button (in the middle of the joystick). That cycles through various modes, including video. See page 37 of the English downloadable manual. Stephen
