With a large DOF, the beauty of flowers shifted the focus of attention to them. Instead of a house surrounded by flowers, flowers were obtained against the background of some kind of house.

Would not the picture be nicer, if the flowers were sharp and the house unsharp? The thread is called  "Wide open", so no DOF! You could still give it a try in October.

And 0.95 for comparison. It’s definitely sharper and modern (obviously) but doesn’t have the look that the 1.2 has…

^ I miss my 1.0. Foolishly sold it years ago after I got the 0.95. I now have the 1.2 reissue and the 0.95, will probably just bite the bullet and reacquire the 1.0 to complete my Noctilux trifecta…
