Juancano Posted May 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 15, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) We just had an old Leica IIIc fixed which I assume has the standard 50mm lens. I'm looking for a lens cap for it, but I am unable to figure out what size/diameter fits this lens. Help!

M9reno Posted May 16, 2019 Share #3 Posted May 16, 2019 Does the lens say Emar 50mm? A36 cap.
Juancano Posted May 16, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted May 16, 2019 It doesn't have a size on it. It says Summicron f=5cm. 1:2 Nr 1328313 Ernst Leits GmbH Wetzlar. I assumed it's a 50mm because it's the standard as I've read. Thank you.
earleygallery Posted May 16, 2019 Share #5 Posted May 16, 2019 That should be a 39mm thread.
Pyrogallol Posted May 16, 2019 Share #6 Posted May 16, 2019 For the Summicron it should be what is known as A42, meaning 42mm diameter push-on fit. E39 is the screw in size , meaning 39mm screw in, which would be the filter size thread. There are lots available on e bay, at about £25 for a genuine Leica one or about a tenth of the price for a Chinese copy, which looks just the same.
