A question regarding the expected performance of the Leica APSC lenses on the new full frame 47mp SL2/SR1 sensors:  Will the Leica APSC lens performance improve on the SL2/SR1 since they will now be working with larger pixel sensors (so better low light performance) with the equivalent number of pixels that were available on the CL/TL APSC sensors?

It's 20 MP with S1R (only 10 MP with S1) and of course the same lens performance as before (IQ) but better high ISO capabilities. But maybe even better is taking a cheap FF lens and crop it to APS-C (e.g. from Canon or CV, there are many small and light lenses which are well corrected in the central area). You can then select the area you want (different in each case).  (Cropping is more flexible than selecting APS-C from the beginning.)

The Contax lenses are also very good for that (Contax 2.8/28 becomes a 42mm, or Leica R 2.0/50mm is an excellent 75mm, the Contax 1.4/50 is another interesting option). And the TL 60mm Macro is a very nice AF macro lens (at 90mm equivalent). The Contax 100mm macro becomes a 150mm.

Another interesting option could be the 6K mode. You can shoot up to 30 frames per second at 18 MP. I have not tried it, but it sounds worth a try.
