QD connectors with wrist straps

I’ve been using the Really Right Stuff L plate on my SL with the RRS wrist strap for about a year and really like the combination with no problems at all, but having $10k+ of camera and glass dangling from a single connection point looks a little risky.  I just wanted to ask if anyone has used the QD connectors and had any problems with it. This makes it very easy to remove the strap to mount the SL on a tripod or to replace the wrist strap with a shoulder strap.  I understand the rated weight limit of the QD connector is way above any possible combination of camera and lens but have not seen an actual number for it.

I’ve been using my SL with the RRS base plate and the QD connector for a leather wrist strap for over two years. Works like a charm.

I've no issues with the QD connectors and use them since a couple of years on different straps including a double shoulder camera harness.

Same here, I’ve been using SL + 24-90 with black rapid strap attached with QD connector for over a year with no issues. Used on many long hikes as well and never had any problems.

I have had the RRS plate since I bought the SL. I did purchase the new QD strap and love it. No issues with it coming loose, have always felt confident in their products.

I only use QD connectors on all my cameras. My preference has been to replace the RRS straps connector with the QD connector. I have also used old webbing left over from camera bags I no longer use to make wrist straps and belt loops.

I also have a RRS plate with QD mount on my 90-280 so I can connect a strap there when using that lens.

‘This is the most elegant RRS lens mount money can buy for the 90-280 lens. I have never used the Leica supplied humongous and ugly in comparison foot.

No. I use the BQDS on the 90-280. I remove the Leica collar and screw this in its place. Smaller and much easier to pack in a bag as well. Still leaves plenty of clearance for the camera to rotate on my Arca Swiss D4 geared head.

+1 for the BQDS. On long lens plates without QD-mount, I add a small screw-knob to the BQDS - of the type B2-FAB/B2-FABN (http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/search?keywords=b2-fab).
