taxal67 Posted April 25, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having had a Leica for years, I sold my M240 last year but kept the lenses...28 & 50 summilux and 70 cron. Missed it...Just bought a secondhand M10 in virtually new look (even had a second battery in the box). It works fine with my 28 and 70 but the 50 at f1.4 and f2 is slightly out - back focus) whats' the best solution? Just how expensive is it sending it to Leica to fix (do they need lens and camera?) Advertisement Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Hi taxal67, Take a look here Caliberation out. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 25, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2019 Leica can tell you the price - it depends on the problem they find, but my guess is that the cost might be bearable. Yes - they need both camera and lenses, in order to determine which is out of tolerance (or the whole system). If I were a betting man I would blame the 50 though. It is notorious for such problems. taxal67 Posted April 25, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 25, 2019 The 50 focuses fine at F1.4 on a my Sony A7RIII with a voigtlander adapter.
Guest JMF Posted April 25, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 25, 2019 You better hand the M10 and 50 summilux yourself to the Leica dealer nearest to you in the UK. Checking and adjusting the M10 can be done onsite and at a small fee usually.

250swb Posted April 26, 2019 Share #8 Posted April 26, 2019 The absolute cheapest way to solve the problem is to get a Typ 020 Visoflex and use that for focusing when you need to use the 50 wide open.
brill64 Posted April 28, 2019 Share #9 Posted April 28, 2019 In the meantime, taking three or four pictures consecutively whilst leaning back slightly also works to correct back focus. One of them will turn out okie
