And about to confirm. Confirmed, S1R, RW2 files open without issue. Edited April 15, 2019 by ron777

ynp Posted April 16, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2019 Thanks for the info. Does it tether to C1?
ron777 Posted April 16, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 16, 2019 You're welcome. As for tethering, having not tried , I do not know.
Ingo Posted April 16, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2019 Native Tethering is not supported (same as all Panasonic cameras). But you can use LumixTether and use the 'Capture' Folder of C1 as Import Folder in LumixTether.

peterv Posted April 17, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 17, 2019 I’d be interested to know if capture one spits out the better file than Lightroom? Would there for example be less noise/more acuity/more accurate colour? I remember using C1 from my M8 days and I never could get to grips with the user interface. ron777 Posted April 17, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted April 17, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I stopped using Adobe LR when it when it went subscription, but from what I recall of the version prior to the changeover, IMO, Capture One is superior in all aspects that you've queried. Others may disagree, but once you get the hang of using it there is little else to compare.
LeeR Posted April 25, 2019 Share #8 Posted April 25, 2019 Yeah and if it wasn't $300 freaking bucks I'd jump all over it. Does a fine job of processing the S Series files to be sure. But man if it were only like $150. So many software packages out there now UNDER $100. I realize it's very good indeed but that's almost as bad as Adobe's robbery. ron777 Posted April 25, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted April 25, 2019 But it can be a onetime purchase, whereas LR is an annuity for Adobe

Not mention the Leica S. How much money did you spend in Film times for good prints? Or did you bring your M7 negs to a cheap drugstore lab for printing? Or what did you pay for an top class enlarger with top notch Schneider enlarger optics? The RAW developing software ist the printer or enlarger of today. It is a tool which development is done by good skilled people that have to pay their bills as you have. I invest better in good tools than in cheap ones Edited April 26, 2019 by verwackelt

Fine if you keep cameras for 5 years or more. An update for C1 is more than a year with Adobe. Or you get rubbish like On1 who don't even quash all the bugs of the previous year release before they stop support of last years version. Anyhow, useless for me as C1 doesn't support many of my cameras. Gordon
ron777 Posted April 27, 2019 Author Share #12 Posted April 27, 2019 C1 provided a free update for the S1/S1R just a few weeks following their release. Sure, you get updates from Adobe but you’re stuck paying them for the rest of your photographic life.
