Matsaly Posted April 9, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) As stated in another post on this forum, I find the Q-P on/off switch poorly designed. To wit, I find that it is very easy to unintentionally turn on the camera and risk draining the battery. Of course the design flaw of the Q (inadvertently going into Continuous mode) is also carried over to the Q-P:( Does anyone have personal experience with the redesigned on/off switch on the Q2? (For those that may wonder why a potential buyer doesn't go into their local Leica boutique/camera store and try it out for themselves, may I remind you that many potential buyers live in more rural areas without a Leica boutique or major photo store)

I had a Q and now have the Q2. The on/off switch on the Q2 is a "night and day" improvement over the Q. It's either on or off—with no risk of inadvertently slipping into continuous shot mode as there was with the Q. Stephen
Matsaly Posted April 9, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 9, 2019 Thank you Stephen. I was aware that the continuous shot mode is now embedded in the menu. I hope I'm not belaboring the point but do you feel there is enough "resistance" to the mechanism to avoid inadvertently turning on the Q2?

My personal feeling is, "yes": I don't find it easy to imagine a way of easily inadvertently turning on the camera. Having said that, no doubt someone will come along and disagree! sturkel Posted April 10, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 10, 2019 The switch has a very positive feel and it does Not appear it would turn on by accident easily. Have used the camera 3 weeks now and so enough time passed if it would have given me any problems.
